Mud Flat Press’ next Lit Chat will be on Zoom with Chris Hyde, author, and Roxanna Groves, illustrator, of Bear’s Souper Sunday Cookbook – Recipes for Hungry Animals on Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2025 at 6:30 p.m.
This delightful, illustrated children’s cookbook restores hope and community through the act of making and sharing food with one’s tribe. The book is a great way for parents and other caregivers to bond with children through its whimsical stories, wonderful illustrations, and easy, healthy recipes. Kids will love the stories and illustrations, and spending quality time with their folks.
Chris and Roxanna will talk about the book and respond to questions and comments.
Chris Hyde is an artist, musician and author who is best known as the creator of the Souper Sunday movement and the Food Source Foundation. Illustrator/artist Roxanna Groves writes: “At the heart of what I do is my need to tell a story, communicate on a level that is inclusive and make people smile, or even laugh.” She says she has been whacked over the head with the sobriquet “whimsical” for many years and now embraces it, which is a perfect fit for this book.
