Meet Flemming Oppenhagen Behrend

Flemming Oppenhagen Behrend grew up in Frederiksberg Denmark. He graduated in 2016 from the Assisi Institute focusing on Jungian dream analysis and archetypal pattern studies.

In 2005 he published his first book: 78 TPM, the Record of a Family, stories from his parents and grandparents’ turbulent times through two world wars.

His book: Sojourner in a Foreign Land, is a memoir about his life growing up in Copenhagen Denmark and immigrating first to Germany and later to the United States.

His novel The Key from Cordoba is inspired by A.H. Behrend’s Some Actual Information on the Life of Agent Israel Joachim Behrend (1915). It tells the story of Joachim, an Iberian Jew who arrived in Copenhagen in 1783.

Since 1980, Flemming has lived in the United States. He lives in Olympia WA, with his wife, Silvia Ruth Behrend.
